Housing Minister Tightens up Rules on Electrical Safety to better protect Renters
Renters will receive better protection thanks to new measures designed to ensure mandatory electrical inspections are carried out by competent and qualified inspectors, Housing Minister Heather Wheeler MP has announced yesterday. As part of the government’s commitment to drive up standards in the private rented sector, landlords will be legally required to ensure that the inspectors they hire to carry out safety inspections have the necessary competence and qualifications to do so – with tough financial penalties for those who fail to comply.
E-Learning - Still the Way Forward
Just over 12 years ago. we developed a suite of qualifications with the assistance of then, Edexcel. These BTEC qualifications at Levels 2, 3 and 4 were the first of their kind in the Private Rented Sector. Vocational qualifications which were suited to the needs and requirements of learners who worked in Letting Agencies and therefore, had a tremendous level of knowledge, yet had never “qualified”.
Tenant Fee Ban to become Law 1st June 2019
The last reading in the House of Lords made a few amendments to the Tenant Fee Ban Bill, but the most important announcement was that the Ban is set to become Law on the 1st June 2019.
