We went Yellow for Shine on Our Charity Golf Day

With a fantastic back drop, amazing weather - not too hot - our first ever Charity Golf Day in support Shine was a tremendous success. We are fortunate that we had support from our sponsors, the golfers, and of course, the team at the Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club who dealt with all the golf related matters.

Any event is challenging to organise, but this particular day was all about team work. Our Chair, Tweedie Brown CBE is a keen golfer so the scene was set given his knowledge and expertise of putting together charitable events. Lauren Green graciously allowed us to share Bear’s story which resonated not only with everyone in attendance on the day, but also those who were unable to attend and gave generously to Shine.

1–15 July 2025 – House of Lords Report Stage & 3rd Reading

Three days of debate scheduled. Amendments under discussion. 

15–22 July 2025 – Limited Window Before Recess

There are only seven days between the final Lords debate and the Commons summer recess. Will Royal Assent be granted before 22nd July 2025?

Creating Contract by WhatsApp - Notices too.

A recent decision in the Technology and Construction Court has held that an exchange of WhatsApp messages is sufficient to create a contract. This is likely to have far-reaching consequences.

In the case a developer hired a demolition contractor to carry out demolition works at a site they were proposing to redevelop. That contractor was not paid and took action against the developer.
