New How to Rent Guide published by MHCLG

After 18 months, the Ministry of Housing has published an updated version of the How to Rent Guide (England).

Since August 2019, there have been significant changes that needed to be included in the How to Rent Guide :-
Amendments to MEES
Additional information to the banning of tenant fees
Addition of the Electrical Safety Regulations 

The Guide also makes reference to the Coronavirus Act 2020.

Points to Remember 

1. Do not save the document as a PDF. Always save the website address in your favourites so you will have access to the most up to date version
2. Landlords and letting agents MUST prove the document has been served, therefore evidence is required. The Guide can be served in hard copy format OR with consent of the tenant, vis email in PDF format
3. Failure to serve the document correctly will invalidate any section 21 (Form 6A) served
