The Impact of Covid is not forgotten

Four years ago every aspect of our lives was tipped on its head.

Just like every other industry, the property sector faced challenges. As the pandemic took hold, the housing sector regrouped and forged ahead overcoming some of the most difficult obstacles ever faced. We forget just how tough it was and upon reflection everything else that’s been a problem, pales into insignificance. Change Management is a real thing and dealing with the pandemic and the consequences it threw at us demonstrated the ability to react DAILY. Every minute of every day something was changing, with new processes and procedures being implemented. The diagram below shows exactly what agents were required to do - find alternatives to the norm, work smarter, stay up to date (that was tough) reconvene, and be constantly reactive never knowing what would happen next.

But we know what happened next. The face of the industry changed, we evolved, perhaps in ways we never thought we ever would. We forget the magnitude of what happened 4 years ago, but we should reflect and recognise exactly how we were forced to adapt.

We used technology to connect with each other. and we realised just how important human contact is to our wellbeing. We took joy in the simplest of things - fresh air, being outside, walking, hobbies, yet this does not detract from the fact that the pandemic was a time of great loss and trauma. We look back at Covid, and the lessons we learnt must never be underestimated.
